About John Stockton

I am a lifelong Jefferson County resident. This is my home, and it always will be.

To keep this very simple, I am not a politician!

I was raised in Arnold, Missouri by my single mother. Some of my earliest memories are riding my bike down Arnold Church Road to my grandmother’s house—long before much of the development that exists today. Those moments shaped my love for this community and the people who live here.

I attended Immaculate Conception Church and School and was part of the first graduating class of Holy Child School after the merger of Immaculate Conception and St. David parishes. Today, that parish is known as Holy Family Parish.

Growing up, I played competitive soccer throughout the region and later played at St. Pius X High School in Festus under the leadership of Coach Dan Bokern, or “Bokes” as many knew him. He was more than a coach—he was a mentor who helped shape the person I would become.

MIssion

MY mission is to serve the people of Jefferson County with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to the values that unite our communities. Together, Jefferson County will move forward with responsible leadership, thoughtful decision-making, and a shared dedication to opportunity, safety, and community strength. County government should always work in the best interest of the people it serves.

VIsion

Jefferson County is more than a place on a map—it is home. It is my home for close to 50 years.  It is where families grow, businesses are built, and communities and neighbors support one another. My vision is to build on the strengths that have shaped our communities while preparing responsibly for the future. Together, we as Jefferson County residents will strengthen our local economy, protect our communities, and uphold the values that make this county such a special place to live and work. By working together, we will ensure Jefferson County remains a place where families thrive for generations to come.

Priorities

  1. Community, Family, and Faith
Jefferson County is built on strong communities, strong families, and the faith that guides many of our lives. Supporting nonprofit organizations, churches, and community groups strengthens the connections that bring people together.  I will support the organizations and traditions that care for our neighbors and strengthen the spirit of our communities.
  2. Jobs and Local Opportunity
A strong economy creates opportunities for families across our communities. Supporting both small businesses and large employers, we will strengthen our local economy and expand opportunities for residents. I will encourage business growth, support entrepreneurship, and create opportunities so residents will not have to leave our county to find good jobs and build successful careers.
  3. Smart and Balanced Growth
Growth is a reality, and it must be guided responsibly. Thoughtful planning allows development while protecting the character of our towns, neighborhoods, and rural landscapes. Together we will guide growth in a way that strengthens our communities while preserving the qualities that make this county unique.
  4. Safe and Secure Communities
Protecting residents is one of the most important responsibilities of local leadership. Law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency responders must have the support and resources needed to protect our us and our neighborhoods!  I stand behind those who serve in these roles and also honor and support the men and women of our military who protect our freedoms and our nation.
  5. Open and Responsible Government
Residents deserve leadership that communicates clearly and remains accountable to the people that they serve. Government must operate with transparency and responsibility.  I will ensure that decisions are made openly and always with the best interests of all of our residents in mind.
